Dr. Parker has studied psychology for thirty-years and practices a model of psychology called Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Cognitive means “thinking.” Thus, CBT proposes that how we think and what we do create our experiences (emotions, feelings). Over the years, Dr. Parker has identified four cognitive-distortions (warped thinking) that seem to underly all, or most all, our struggles. Whether it be spiritual disconnectedness, addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, parenting difficulties or conflict with others, these four cognitive-distortions are in operation.
“Change your thinking, change your life.”
At the core of the Crash Course are the Four Fundamentals:
1) Focus on what you control.
2) Stop "shoulding" and start "wanting."
3) Shift from worrying to striving.
4) Shift from negative to positive thinking.
The Life Transformation seminar is a three-night event wherein Dr. Parker teaches the four-fundamentals. By using simple language, humor and real-life examples, Dr. Parker shows attendees how to recognize the thought processes that are holding them back and how to change those processes to unleash their potential, enjoy life and come to know the will of God.
